I was just wondering how long it took for people to be approved to become an author on this site. I put in my piece weeks ago wanting to post a Christmas fic but I've never heard back so I was just curious.

I'm not sure, but I think it varies. It just took a couple of days for 'em to get back to me. It may be 'cause of the holidays that they haven't gotten back to you. Give 'em a little bit more time, then maybe try again? I dunno how that would work, but yeah.

I submitted an application on June 9th and still haven't received a response. I sent a PM to Thieving Magpie but have heard nothing from there either.

Umm, this might be a stupid question. But how do you even begin to become an author, I've looked through the forum, and obviously I have missed something...

I think Electra told you, but if you go to Member Control, there should be a thing that says Become an Author.

Im having the same issue even though last time before things on the board got erased it only to a couple of days for me to get approved. it's suck having to do it again.

I've been waiting about a month. The author button was there, but now it's gone. Any idea what's goiing on? Are they no longer adding new author's?

Life has been a little backed up lately for both TM and myself. But I'll do my best to get the author applications figured out in the next little while.

I'm also waiting to hear back. my application was reviewed but I haven't gotten 'permission' or whatever to post. it's been almost two weeks. you guys still backed up?

To everyone waiting for approval, I'm sorry you've been waiting so long. I don't believe the admin is active in the fandom anymore, and hence the site has seen less and less of him. The Mod is around a bit more often though I'm not sure he can approve new authors.
TM, no disrespect to you; just trying to answer these questions. What I would suggest in the meantime to everyone waiting is to create an account at fanfiction.net and upload your stories there. Then create a topic in the fanfiction discussion forum and post the links there. That way everyone on this site knows where to check them out  TM, if you happen to pop in, please ... Let me help out. I've modded forums before and would be HAPPY to do basic member maintenance here.
