SUGGESTIONS, Improvements, new fourms and the like

If you have suggestions on how to improve the site or if you want to request a new (sub)froum do it here.

I am really wondering about the lack of reviews here. It's not that people don't read the fics, most of them just don't review. Not even a simple "Nice, write more!" or "Hey, please update soon." It's not like you'd have to be a member to leave a review either.

I've been in the fanfiction scene for quite a quite a while now and really don't believe there'll ever be like 1000 reviews for a fic, because that's just not possible in such a small fandom. But no reviews at all for some fics? That's really strange.

I thought that at least the authors would review the fics of other authors, but they probably reviewed the fics in other places already.

Reviewing is a critical part of any fanfiction community site though. If people don't review, authors will loose interest in uploading their fics. If authors loose interest and stop uploading there'll be nothing left to read soon.

So, if anybody has an idea or a comment on the matter on how to encourage people to leave a review I'd really like to hear about it.

A lot of people don't like to review publicly (I think). Concrit is always better privately imo, and it can be taken a certain way if you post positive reviews for some fics and none at all for others.

Of course, some of us are just lazy.

I didn't see a subject about fanarts, wallpapers or avatars… It would be fun to open one... And if it doesn't work, so, delete it ! Don't know... Just a suggestion !

And while i'm here... why also not open in the same subject, a video topic... Then all the Fuffy vidders can submit their links to show them !

A year ago we had a section for that, but it was hardly used at all. I'll see what I can do.

Sounds like a good sugegstion--you can always do a trial period see how it does and then if its not used take it out

Er... well, You could have a role play section. If you added one then you could attract the Buffy RPing community, and there are alot of us. And if you made a main role play with somthing like a "season 8" then I'm sure you'd get lots of members in no time. I'd RP a season 8.... It's just a little suggestion.

Can somebody please eloberate on the roleplay thing. I'm not too sure how this is supposed to work. Maybe someone can give me a link to a roleplay section on a different site.

Hm, well, I'd give you the link to my site cuz it has a roleplay section in it, but it's not fully up yet because I don't have enough members to have a really good roleplay....

I can explain it if you like... Roleplaying is kinda like writing a story, only it's just you who control just your character. like say I'm playing Willow and you're playing Buffy; I can't say somthing along these lines: "Buffy came up and hugged Willow, her best friend since highschool." I could, however, say this: "Willow came up and hugged Buffy, her best friend since highschool."

And that's just the basics, now if you have NPCs- Non Player Characters- you can make them do whatever, for instance if there was a new slayer near Buffy and you wanted Buffy to interact with that person you could do this: "Buffy chatted with one of her students..."

these are just really really really simple little examples, I could try to find a roleplaying site that is fully functioning if you like, cuz I'm not very confident in my teaching..... But yeh, there we have it! Roleplaying in a nutshell.... mostly...

-points to self- Uh, helllloooo? Veteran RPer here? I would roleplay! heck I would run it if I was able to lol! But seriously I think it'd work, there are a million roleplayers out there, it should be easy to attract a few! Especially since I have connections on yahoogroups like RPGPlug and AllGenreRPG, they're Roleplay advertisment groups. So yeh, it'll be easie than makin' cake from a cakemix!

Well, I know what role playing is, also did some D&D role playing myself in real life 10 years ago. I just don't know what we need technically. Is there some special software that is required or do we just need a special forum section?

Just a forum will do. I don't think we'd need any fancy-shmancy programs.... I've personally never RPed with any fancy programs....

Not sure if this is the correct spot or not, but...

In the fanfic character list, I notice several minor characters in the list, but no Gwen Raiden (AtS Season 4 (2002, 2003) - "Ground State"; "Long Day's Journey"; "Players"). Is there any way we can get her added to the list or should I just use 'other?'

Found some discrepancies so I decided to investigate. Is the proper spelling "Rhona" or "Rona?" You have it as "Rhona" in the fic character list. According to "Generation S" on the season 7 DVD the correct spelling is actually "Rona."

The subtitles also call her Rona.

Ok, I feel kind of weird asking this, but why don't we have like a Cbox, or something like that on here?
