Nix is awesome. Just thought you should know that. Smart woman, sardonic sense of humor, tells it like it is, doesn't take Faith's bullshit.

I think I'm in love.

And even after all that straight talkin' from Nix, Faith is still looking the gift horse in the mouth. I understand being cautious, I understand Faith wanting to be able to define herself outside of all things Buffy, but when Buffy Summers is telling you she wants you, you don't respond with:
"No you don't.” for crying out loud!

Although Faith does have a point here: "You're so sure of what you want, but you're chasing a ghost, B." She's not the fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants girl that Buffy and the rest of the gang used to know, and as frustrating as the situation is, I *love* the fact that Faith isn't caving just because Buffy wants her to.

And yes, I did just contradict myself.

They're hot together, what can I say?

But even hotter, I think, is a post-"Chosen" Faith who can stand up for herself and make her own choices. I'm glad she's going to Cleveland, and I'm glad she's bringing Kate with her.

I'll have to save the road trip for tomorrow, cuz it is past my bedtime.

Author Feedback: Yeah, I'm really stoked about Nix, too. She's just so damn *perceptive*, and she doesn't fuck around with her advice. She probably makes a damn good medic, with all that self-confidence she's carrying around, and I think she's a great person to make the traditionally-badass Faith realize she's nowhere near the baddest, nor the assiest, girl alive. Everyone needs a kick in the ass sometimes--Faith more than most--and Nix is perfect to do that for her.

About looking the gift horse in the mouth... wouldn't you? I mean, all of a sudden this woman shows up in your life after nearly three years, expecting you to be waiting for her, after treating you very poorly before you left town the first time... Anyone with any kind of sense would be hesitant, I think. And I really like a Faith who *has* that kind of sense. I think, on some level, she's right about Buffy chasing a version of her. On the other hand, she doesn't exactly have anything else to chase--it's not like she's had a chance to really see who Faith is yet. Their relationship is, perforce, complicated, and made more so by whatever changes they've both gone through in the last few years.

Agreed, on a Faith who can stand up for herself. She always was both the strongest and the weakest of the pack; it's just nice to finally see the balance tip back towards 'strong' again

aww why do i feel sorry for buffy lol that was harsh. looking forward to the next chapter

Author Feedback: Thanks for the comments! Yeah, I feel a little sorry for B too. Maybe she'll get what she's looking for, though, and it's nice that she's being up-front about things for a change. I'm looking forward to the next chapter as much as you are, especially since I don't even know what's gonna happen in it yet

Author Feedback: Nix rocks. There's just no other way to say it. And I want to find a way to keep her in the story; I'll see if I can manage it. And the car ride should be mucho entertaining.

i've read some of the other reviews and people are saying that faith sleeps with kate after buffy professes her love but i went back and looked at the chapter and faith realizes that buffy has feelings for her and buffy kisses her but buffy does not profess her love to her until chapter 18. its ridiculous their not together not a couple faith was a free agent.

Author Feedback: I think B is letting her feelings out in stages. And I think Faith and Kate were only doing what they felt was right or what they needed at the time. Show me someone who hasn't, once or twice. Still, thanks for the clarifying.

Nix is awesome! I love her, she just gives it to Faith straight. No bullshit.

Also the Buffy and Faith interaction was cute, I agree with Faith they need to get to know each other again. Another awesome chapter.

Author Feedback: Thanks! Yeah, I love Nix too. I need a Nix. And a Slayer. Then I could be happy. Give me a Nix, a Slayer and a Faith and I'd be like doubleplusplus happy... but... alas.

Nix is a smart girl, wish that she would come to Cleveland too.as much as I want there to be Fuffy goodness I think they should take it slow like just get to know each other and I’m glad that Buffy is not pushing too much on Faith.

Author Feedback: Like I told someone else, Nix'll be around, I suspect. I like her too much to just abandon her. She's great for perspective and giving Faith the ass-kicking she needs, but doing it with love rather than frustration.

awesome update. sad you left ch. 17 at a cliffhanger. loved the talk between faith and nix. glad faith was honest with buffy about sleeping with kate and the fact that faith still has a lot of stuff to think about and deal with. faith, kennedy, and kate in a car with slayer interesting. still can't wait to see who faith ends up with. glad buffy isn't pushing things.

Author Feedback: Chapter 17 was SO NOT A CLIFFHANGER! They clearly slept together, I just wanted to give them some privacy. This is story, not porn. But trust me... they *needed* some privacy.

Yeah, the next chapter or two should be rock-awesome. I can't wait to find out what happens next

I have no idea where this is going. I just know Nix is gonna be missed. Also I'm still shocked at how mature B is being. I mean F drops the Kate bomb on her and *gasp* no hitting! Will wonders never cease? I hope not.

Author Feedback: Don't worry, I plan to keep Nix involved in the story, even if it's just by phone. And yeah, that actually surprised me too a little bit. I wonder if Buffy is keeping a rabbit somewhere that she just punches violently as soon as Faith leaves
