Hello! Just wanted to get this off my chest: back in the days when I was seriously interested in the Fillow pairing, this was one of the stories that caught my eye, and instantly sucked me in. It was long, focused on developing the characters, and egads - didn't rush headfirst into a relationship! Its been a while since I've read it, so I will probably have to rework from the beginning, but I just wanted to say that I remembered immensely liking this story, and the snappy, cohise writing style you use. Also, it was on my bookmarks from before I joined up to fan fiction and buffynfaith. :3 only 5 stories made the bookmarks! Not that its a great honour or anything... But I really felt this fic was worth the time. Thank you for taking the time out to write it  Author Feedback: Being a bookmark is an awesome honor.  LOL. You know, I've taken a lot of lumps for the slow build up between Faith and Willow. At Chapter 30 or so, I even started to wonder if the Muse had lost her already-in-doubt mind. But the Evil Wench persevered. |

Howdy! Damn. What a thrillin' finale: blood, guts, explosions, Darth Willow, Faith cuttin' loose in a big way. Loved the win together or go down together mentality they had to. Added to the tension! Counting at least eleven dead MiniSlayers and Faith and Willow, as well as pretty much everyone else, wounded. And how many in that Flint Clan anyhow? Alot of them dead now as it is. Damini's scheme seems to have gutted the tribe no matter who's won. Faith's taken human life again... not that I'm carin' much. But Faith's gonna need help dealin' as well as explainin' to the bosses the hows and whys. One thing folks in the Council are gonna have ta grasp is that in many ways humans are the most dangerous thing out there. Add guns to the equation and if Slayers aren't ready to use lethal force and fast, they're gonna die... often. Hope this little apocalypse drives that lesson home. Oh, and due to this reality accidents like Finch WILL happen and get ready to deal with better (well, dang near anything is better) than last time. The Cracker! Author Feedback: Thanks for the awesome feedback. By the time the Muse got to this chapter, there was no holding her back. It was time to take the training wheels off and do the battle up right. There were a lot of bodies in that Alley. Damini's slash and burn mentality didn't leave much behind for any of the tribes. The humans...were a terrible and bloody plot device, I'm afraid. Faith needed to confront her past - and Willow's - and find a way to keep fighting. I didn't do much with the Council in this fic. Maybe in the sequel, if there is one.  I'd have to convince the Muse to really write Giles (which is not her favorite thing).~Chris |

Okay, it's been 43 chapters--highly entertaining chapters--and I have to ask. Why are Faith, Will and the Juniors getting involved in Mohawk tribal politics? The facts of what's going on with the tribe have been made pretty clear--political takeovers, army of vampires. What hasn't been made clear is what happens if Chelsea isn't the one deciding the election. More to the point, why does Chelsea *care* about an election that's taking place with a family that abandoned her at birth? Sure, I get her wanting to find out more about her heritage and being intrigued by Anshu showing up at her door. But why go along, all the way to St Reginald? What's motivating her to interfere in politics so far outside her normal realm of life? What stake (heh) do the vampires have in the Mohawk elections? I also don't get Faith's role in this prophecy. (I'm guessing that was deliberate...) Faith, Willow and Nic (who I love, by the way) are risking a lot of lives to keep Lake alive, and I kind of have no clue as to why. Why do the vamps want her dead so badly? (Other tribes I get... local politics matter to them. Not so much to Faith, or Lake). Other than the fact that she's important in a prophecy, they don't seem to have an awful lot of reasons *why*. All that being said--and it's entirely possible I missed something in my marathon read--I like this story a lot. The characters are well-developed, especially Faith, Nic and Chelsea. The plot is engaging, and I like the Native American aspects of the story. There's an insane amount of potential to combine Slaying and Native American stories, and they're vastly underutilized in both the canon and this site. Kudos! All in all, I'm engaged and enjoying the story fully. Now go write more so I can feed my addiction  Author Feedback: So, um, it's like this. I had a plan. A great plot. It was all written down (including the I, A, and iii). Then the muse got sidetracked by the Willow/Faith thing and the fun of spilling the Slayer thing to a bunch of cops. By the time I wrested the keyboard back, I realized I'd gotten past 40 chapters and hadn't explained everything. It's a mad dash to the finish line, and I look forward to finding out if you think I tied all the storylines together. I suspect I did not. If you hit DTs before I post here again, the fic is actually complete on my homepage. I managed to get the last chapter up yesterday. |

Okay, here's the dealie. I'm gonna stop right here, not because I don't want to keep reading, but I'm super-fucking-tired, and if I keep reading, I'm going to forget to review before I pass out facefirst and wake up with QWERTY emblazoned backwards on my forehead. This is the first BtVS crossover fic that I've ever actually *liked*, much less found truly *interesting*--and that's something, considering I'm not an SVU fan (sex crimes just piss me right the fuck off). Oh, and the "liked" or "interesting" part? Yeah, that's including a draft of a BtVS / In Plain Sight crossover I've been working on in my head for about a year now. So first off, kudos for making me read this far and still keep me hungry for more. I like Faith as a leader. I always have. I feel like, Post-S7, Faith is actually an incredibly responsible person (obviously, since my claim to fame on this website is making her a paramedic). She handles Nicole and the other Juniors (such a Faith word for the Slaylets! I love it!) really well. Willow's description of Faith as a Mama Bear is right on the money, I think: not afraid to scold and censure; willing to go into her worst nightmare to rescue one of her own. (PS: Faith shitting her pants at going into a police station? ALWAYS fun.) I have a few issues with your use of Faith's lexicon here--she's never been an 'ain't' girl, or at least not as often as you write her using it--but it's a small quibble compared to an interesting, intriguing, and well-written storyline. (Sorry to be critical; as an author I find it more useful than people simply dumping praise over my head like Gatorade). Oh, and I'm really liking the Faith-Willow connection that's been building so far. I guess I don't really have the best handle on your Willow yet; I can't figure out if she's scared or angry half the time; she seems to be very mood-swingy. But Willow has always been emotionally fickle, and it's interesting to see her working alongside Faith rather than fighting her. I wonder, is this headed towards a Waith story? Because I've always, always, always wondered what that would be like. I'm not sure it would work, given the characters as they appear in canon, but I'm curious, and your writing leaves me wanting more. There, I said it. I'm hooked, I keep compulsively clicking "next" when I should be sleeping, and I'm going to keep on reading until my eyes bleed. So there it is. Author Feedback: If you *do* ever fall asleep at the keyboard, send pics. The muse and I could use some inspiration. Or amusement. I'll decide once I see the photos. Faith is absolutely my favorite character to write. So many emotions stuffed into a sexy package. Redemption Faith, though... I can never resist. By the time Faith landed in Angel's apartment, you could see the character growth. I'm dancing in joy that you liked the police station scene. The muse ran off with the plot outline; that wasn't in the original chapter I had in mind. She's an Evil Wench - but she has good instincts. Don't feel bad about the criticism. I happen to agree with you. The Faith Voice that's lodged in my head runs the gamut from completely normal to a Bostonian imitation of the Artful Dodger. Brace yourself for the last few chapters, especially. I had to take a writing hiatus thanks to RL and when I cam back... Well, you may find yourself singing "You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two." This one is definitely Waith. But it takes a while to develop. A long, long while. |

I'm absolutely addicted to this story... I've been following it since the beginning and although there have been some gaps in chapter posting, I still can't wait to see it finished. I especially like missing a month or two and coming back to find five or six chapters have been posted since my last read. You are a talented writer and I can't wait to see what you have in store for Willow and Faith. Keep up the good work... oh and post the next chapter ASAP!!!! Author Feedback: Hmmm... Also liked the guilt in not knowin' their names...a nice call-back ta the battle with the First. Faith knew their names an Buffy didn't...and now the shoes on the other foot. And boy does it truly suck on many levels, but our girl is risn ta the occasion. Good chapter and well done...take it from a guy who made such calls. Howdy, Finally a kiss and Faith waking up to some facts! Heheh, Willow has got Faith nailed fast now and once the mission's over, she gonna land her girl! I hope Faith isn't forced to split her forces. If the vamps are as numerous as suspected, any diversionary force Faith ain't with is likely toast. I've gotten attached to these girls the way you've portrayed them. Finn would be a good addition to that mission though: he's an experienced combat vet and a former NCO (THE bad-ass combat leaders). Yeah, they're vamps, but tactics is tactics plus a .40S&W hollowpoint to the knee will stop even a vamp cold! Author Feedback: It took the muse (and Willow) forever to realize they would have to make the first move. Now, though... I think you are right. Willow owns Faith You should see Faith's strategy rolling out soon. The battle isn't too far off. |
